## Description

An interactive advent calendar for WordPress, built from a polished design
 prototype(
light, warm, modern).

 * 24 doors with three states: today (open), past/participated, locked.
 * Per-door entry flow: sponsor prize quiz optional social form confirmation
   with a ticket number.
 * Quiz without right/wrong feedback — participants only pick an answer; only the
   admin sees the evaluation.
 * Content (sponsors, prizes, quiz questions, logos, prize images) is editable through
   the door editor.
 * Configurable: color theme (Berry/Fir/Amber/Custom colors), layout (Grid/Staggered),
   door style (Tile/Circle/Gift), quiz mode (Guided/Single page).
 * Custom colors: accent, background and text color freely selectable via color
   picker.
 * Statistics dashboard with key figures and a bar chart of entries per door.
 * Multiple prizes per door, with a configurable number of winners; the draw distributes
   the prizes across the winners.
 * Optional per-door PayPal donation button; recorded donations grant an extra lot
   and, above a threshold, a guaranteed direct-win prize.
 * Winner draw: random pick per door, optionally only among “all correct”, winner
   list with CSV export.
 * Email confirmation to participants (template with placeholders) and optional
   admin notification.
 * Prevents duplicate entries: one entry per email per door.
 * Entries are stored in a dedicated table; admin list with filter and CSV export.
 * Progress is remembered per browser via localStorage.
 * Gamification: progress bar, “streak” indicator and confetti (plus optional sound)
   when completing a door.
 * Countdown to the next door right in the calendar header.
 * Live preview in the settings: theme, colors, layout and texts are shown instantly
   as a mini calendar.
 * Gutenberg block “Adventura” with live preview and display options in the sidebar(
   in addition to the shortcode).
 * Newsletter integration (Mailchimp, Brevo, CleverReach) with opt-in in the form
   and double opt-in.
 * Reminder emails via opt-in: daily WP-Cron send with one-click unsubscribe.
 * Invite & refer: personal invitation link per participant, referral tracking and
   top referrers in the dashboard.
 * Spam/cheat protection: honeypot, time trap and IP rate limit.
 * GDPR tools: integration with WordPress data export and data erasure plus a suggested
   privacy policy text.
 * GDPR-friendly: fonts are served locally, no requests to Google.

### Usage

Add the shortcode to a page:

    ```
    [advk_calendar]
    ```

Optional attributes override the settings per page:

    ```
    [advk_calendar theme="tanne" layout="scene" door_style="ornament" quiz_mode="single"]
    ```

For a preview outside December, a fixed day (1–24) can be set under
 _Adventura
Settings  “Force today’s door”_.

To publish a public winners list, add the shortcode:

    ```
    [advk_winners]<h3>Notes for Developers</h3>
    ```

When an entry is saved, the action `advk_entry_created` is fired
 (parameters: entry
id, day, email, ticket number, extra) — suitable for sending a confirmation email
or handing data to a CRM, for example. The fifth parameter `extra` contains first
name, last name, the opt-in flags for newsletter and reminder, and the referral
code.

### External services

This plugin does not connect to any external service by default. No data leaves

your site unless you explicitly enable and configure the optional newsletter integration
under _Adventura  Settings  Newsletter_.

When — and only when — you enable the newsletter integration, choose a provider

and enter your own API key, and a participant actively ticks the optional newsletter
opt-in checkbox, the plugin sends that participant’s data to the provider you selected
so they can be added to your mailing list. The data sent is: the participant’s email
address and their first and last name. It is sent once, at the moment the entry
is submitted with the opt-in checked. No data is sent for participants who do not
opt in, and nothing is sent if the integration is disabled or no API key is set.

**Cloudflare Turnstile (optional bot protection).** When you enable Turnstile
 under
_Adventura Settings Cloudflare Turnstile_ and enter your own site and secret keys,
the entry form loads the Turnstile widget script from challenges.cloudflare.com,
and on submit the plugin sends the widget token (and the visitor’s IP address) to
Cloudflare’s siteverify endpoint to check that the submission is not a bot. This
happens only while Turnstile is enabled. Service by Cloudflare, Inc.: Terms of Service:
https://www.cloudflare.com/website-terms/ — Privacy Policy: https://www.cloudflare.
com/privacypolicy/

You can choose one of the following newsletter providers. Each is a third-party

service with its own terms and privacy policy; please review them before enabling:

 * Mailchimp — email marketing service. Used to add opted-in participants to a

   Mailchimp audience/list. Data sent: email address, first name, last name. Terms
   of Use: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/ — Privacy Policy: https://www.intuit.
   com/privacy/statement/
 * Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — email marketing service. Used to add opted-in

   participants as a contact. Data sent: email address, first name, last name. Terms
   of Service: https://www.brevo.com/legal/termsofuse/ — Privacy Policy: https://
   www.brevo.com/legal/privacypolicy/
 * CleverReach — email marketing service. Used to add opted-in participants as a

   receiver in a group. Data sent: email address, first name, last name. Terms of
   Service: https://www.cleverreach.com/en/terms-of-service/ — Privacy Policy: https://
   www.cleverreach.com/en-de/privacy-policy/

## FAQ

### Are external services (Google Fonts) loaded?

No. The fonts used (Hanken Grotesque, Bricolage Grotesque) are served locally from
the plugin. No requests are made to Google or other third-party servers — GDPR-friendly.

### Can participants see whether they answered correctly?

No. The quiz intentionally shows no right/wrong feedback. The correct answer never
leaves the server; only the admin sees the evaluation.

### How do I prevent multiple entries?

Under _Adventura Settings Entry_ you can enable “Allow only one entry per email
per door” (default: on).

### How do I draw winners?

Under _Adventura Draw_ a random winner is picked per door — optionally only among
participants who answered everything correctly. Winners can be exported as CSV.

## Changelog

#### 1.3.0

 * New: settings to show or hide sponsors and prizes independently. Turn both off
   for a plain “doors + text” calendar (the door opens and shows just the text,
   no sponsor branding and no prize).

#### 1.2.9

 * Fix: force the winners row padding/spacing with higher specificity so host themes
   that style content list items can no longer squash the day badge against the
   border.

#### 1.2.8

 * Change: in the public winners list the prize now sits right after the name (with
   a middot separator) instead of being pushed to the far right of the row.
 * Hardening: winners rows reset list markers/margins so the day badge keeps its
   spacing regardless of the host theme.

#### 1.2.7

 * Fix: more padding in the public winners list so the day badge no longer sits
   tight against the row border.
 * New: optional setting to show winners’ full name instead of “Firstname L.” (off
   by default, privacy-friendly).

#### 1.2.6

 * Fix: the [advk_winners] “Unsere Gewinner” heading was clipped with some themes/
   fonts — more line height so it always shows fully.

#### 1.2.5

 * New: when marking a winner by hand in the Entries list you can assign one of
   the door’s prizes; removing the winner clears the assignment.
 * New: the Settings “Usage” box now also documents the [advk_winners] shortcode(
   public winners list) and its day/limit attributes.

#### 1.2.4

 * New: pick winners by hand directly in the Entries list — each row has a “Mark
   as winner” / “remove” toggle, so you don’t have to use the random draw.

#### 1.2.3

 * New: manually add a participant on the Entries page (“Teilnehmer hinzufügen”)—
   day, name, e-mail, optional donation, consent flag, and an optional confirmation
   e-mail.
 * Fix: bullet/numbered lists in the sponsor/prize/donation text now show their
   markers on the front end (some themes reset list styling).

#### 1.2.2

 * New: sponsor description, prize description and donation text now accept standard
   HTML — paragraphs, bold/italic, links, bullet/numbered lists and images. Blank
   lines become paragraphs automatically.
 * New: an “Insert image” button on each of those fields adds a picture straight
   from the media library; such images are click-to-enlarge (lightbox) in the calendar.
 * New: when a sponsor website is set, the sponsor name (below the logo) becomes
   the link, with a small external-link icon; the logo itself is shown a little
   larger.
 * Improved: clearer wording on the optional “Follow” step (it now notes that following
   raises the chances of winning).

#### 1.2.0

 * New: multiple prizes per door. Add as many prizes as you like (title, text, value,
   image) in the door editor.
 * New: set the number of winners to draw per door. The draw distributes the prizes
   across the winners (e.g. 5 prizes / 5 winners = one each; 3 prizes / 1 winner
   = all three).
 * The winner list and CSV export now show the prize assigned to each winner.
 * Existing single-prize doors keep working unchanged (shown as one prize).
 * New: optional per-door PayPal donation button. Donations are recorded manually
   under “Entries” (amount per participant); any donation grants an extra lot (double
   chance in the draw) and a donation at or above a configurable threshold grants
   a guaranteed direct-win prize.
 * Entries are now only accepted on the door’s own day — enforced on the server (
   not just hidden in the browser). Past doors can still be opened and viewed, but
   show an “entry closed” notice instead of the form; future doors stay locked.
 * New: logged-in admins can open and play through every door regardless of the
   date (preview/testing); visitors still see the normal per-day lock.
 * New: prize images can be clicked to open a full-size lightbox.
 * New: the entries list (and CSV export) now show a “Referral” column — whether
   a participant joined via someone’s invite link, plus their own referral code
   and invite count.
 * New: notify winners by e-mail. On the Draw page, one click e-mails the drawn
   winners their assigned prize (styled HTML mail, editable template); a “notified”
   status and re-send protection are tracked.
 * New: consent logging. Each entry stores the consent timestamp, IP address and
   which terms/privacy targets were shown; the CSV export includes them as proof.
 * The admin entries and draw tables now use the full window width.
 * New: public winners list via the [advk_winners] shortcode (shows day, first name
   + last initial, and prize).
 * New: social sharing — share buttons for the personal referral link (WhatsApp,
   Facebook, X, e-mail) plus Open Graph/Twitter meta on the calendar page (optional
   share image in the settings).
 * New: optional Cloudflare Turnstile bot protection (privacy-friendly, no Google)
   in addition to the honeypot/time-trap — enable it and add your own keys under
   Settings.
 * New: use the calendar beyond December. Configure the number of fields (1–31),
   rename “Türchen” to anything (e.g. “Easter nest”), and choose an unlock mode:
   Advent (December date) or a free start date (one field per day from a chosen
   date).
 * New: extra themes (Winter, Halloween, Easter) and an optional snow particle effect.
 * Improved: redesigned HTML e-mails with a configurable logo, a styled footer text(
   imprint/address) and an accent header; reminder mails keep the one-click unsubscribe
   link.
 * New: live e-mail preview in the settings — pick confirmation, reminder or winner
   and see exactly how the mail will look with your current logo, footer and text.
 * New: double opt-in for the reminder e-mails (on by default) — subscribers must
   confirm via an e-mail link before any reminder is sent, so consent is provable(
   GDPR).

#### 1.1.0

 * New: choose how many doors per row (3, 4, 6 or 8) in the settings.
 * New: calendar width option (compact, normal, wide, full).
 * New: upload a custom image per door, used as the closed door tile with the day
   number on top.
 * Improved: door pop-ups now open above the whole page (no longer clipped by sticky
   headers or themes using CSS transforms) and always show their header and footer;
   only the content scrolls when there is a lot of text.
 * Improved: confirmation and reminder e-mails are now sent as styled HTML mails.
 * New: optional “Adventura Plugin by DIMENDIA” credit badge under the calendar (
   off by default).

#### 1.0.0

 * First public release.
