At company we regularly migrate very old databases and clean it up to make sure website using it is running smoothly. Those databases have all different kinds of inconsistencies collected during years or even decades of usage, and Media Library is the most common problematic piece of data here.
That plugin helps to solve most common problems related to Media Library data.

We use a lot of open-source tools in our work, and therefore decided publish our own tools so that those can be used by the community too.

Manual migration from one host to another. Suddenly none of the 2,000+ images on the site are available? Not sure as to why - tried a few things including several other plugins and everything failed. Thought they were gone for good and was contemplating how I could possibly fix the issue. Installed this simple little beauty of a plugin, ran once and everything is back in order again! Simple, no fuss, ran like a charm (took around 30 mins) and worked perfectly. So very much appreciated!

Many of my media library images were missing. Installed the plugin, did a back-up (just in case) ran the tool with the standard settings and after a bit of time (I think 20 minutes or maybe longer for over 1,500 images) I can now again see all the images thumbnails that are in my media folder!

We are attempting to fix an additional 6000 media files that were created as a result of a woocommerce bulk import. In short this issue is a nightmare for anyone who has to deal with it and this plugin saves you. This plugin was the only one that actually did what it said it would do, we cannot thank the plugin authors enough! We tried: Media Cleaner, and Media Cleaner Pro - Author never responded on the issues we had there (namely it literally wiped out media files that were attached to woo product pages) Media Deduper & Media Deduper Pro - Didn't even load or index, reached out to authors, they helped but didn't fix the issue, refunded us. Media Gallery enhanced - doesn't help for this problem. Media Search enhanced - is the best search utility (although unsupported for current versions of wordpress, still is the best way to search filenames in wordpress who knew you couldn't search filenames). This plugin however breaks the search for items in the trash. In short - this plugin installed, and cleaned out duplicates, cleaned out unassigned images, re-assigned meta data to media files that somehow didn't have it, and reduced our media library from 14,000 to 8,000 THANK YOU!
