More help installing Plugins

Will this Plugin work on my WordPress.com website?

Sorry, this plugin is available for use only on self-hosted (WordPress.org) websites.

My Custom CSS isn’t showing up

There are several reasons this could be happening:

  • Your CSS is targeting the wrong selector.

  • Your CSS selectors aren’t specific enough.

For instance, you may have:

a {
    color: #f00;
}

When you need:

\#content a {
    color: #f00;
}

The specificity you need depends upon the CSS rules you are attempting to override.

  • Your CSS isn’t valid.

Please check your CSS at the W3C CSS Validation Service.

A Must Have!

If you have a WordPress site and your going to be making tweaks to the design or layout of your site from themes to plugins YOU NEED THIS, forget about needing sub-themes and hard coding the changes you want to make, unless its a massive change this will do everything you need! I love it!

Stable, Easy, Colour-Coded for Errors

I have been using Simple Custom CSS plugin for many years. It is stable, easy and I love that it colour codes to show your errors. Absolutely five stars for this one!

Not compatible with WP version 4.9.1

With the latest version of wordpress 4.9.1, it’s not working well. It has scrolling problems when you scroll the CSS. Also, it would be helpful if after saving, the page stays in the same css line without having to scroll again if you want to make a change to the last line that was just modified.

    <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://yoursite.com/?sccss=1" />

…even though no css file is actually generated. Please see the comments within the Plugin file for more detailed information.
